Well, I'm still on a roll with the service order and after a lot of posts, we've moved onto the next folder of configuration.  Today's post will talk about setting the default item category for the components tabs within the service order. 

Here's the location within configuration (SPRO).

This is pretty straightforward.  you can define it by material type/plant.  Notice, these item categories are the same as used within a standard bill of material (CS01).  It's really that easy.  Since it isn't service order dependent, this is a piece of configuration that is rarely used.  It typically is a one and done type of thing.  That's it.
