We know that we can archive objects in SAP system with transaction SARA with the corresponding archive object, but how the archive object is defined and what is behind this object? We can easily check it in transaction AOBJ.

Here you can select the archive object you want to check manually or by "Position" function.

Then check the detail of this object.

Here you can see the report that is used for every archive steps.

Then if you check the read programs, you will see the report that is used for retrieve data from archived files.

For some archive objects, you will also find out for which table the entries will only be deleted but not archived during archive run.

You can also check the customizing settings and other information you want to know for an archive object.
