ESP enables real-time Decision Making on SAP HANA

A white paper titled “Automated Real-time Decision Making on the SAP HANA Platform” was recently published, showing how automated real-time decision systems can be implemented using HANA and SAP Sybase Event Stream Processor (ESP). It covers a number of use cases and dives into one – Precision Gaming – as an example to illustrate the approach.  The core concept is to take streams of events in real-time, monitor those events to identify ones that should trigger a response, and then, in real-time, using the decision frameowork on HANA to determine the best response.
