Which SAP Learn BI Tutorials are being used? Where are they using it? Lumira Cloud with Mobile BI may have the answers
Back in February I wrote this regarding the new SAP Analytics Training channel New SAP Analytics Training Channel on YouTube – Subscribe Today
The SAP’s In Product Education Team reviews the page views to see which ones are the most popular. There are two datasets – one for the SCN views at sap.com/LearnBI and the other for the Youtube channel. I wanted to review more details myself, this time using Lumira Cloud on Mobile BI 5.0
Here is how the workflow started:
SAP’s Steve Paxian shared his visualizations and datasets with me:
Figure 1
In Figure 1 I click to view the item and log on to the Lumira Cloud through Mobile BI on the iPad.
Figure 2
Figure 2 is Steve’s image shared with me of YouTube page views of tutorials.
Because there are so many product tutorials, I cannot easily tell which ones are the most popular from Figure 2, except Web Intelligence.
Figure 3
Figure 3 shows SCN page views by product, comparing 2012 with 2013. The trend is going up but it is still difficult to review the number of page views by product.
Figure 4
Figure 4 shows page views for product tutorials for both 2012 and 2013. Other than seeing that the main page, sap.com/LearnBI has the most views, it is difficult to analyze and notice the X-axis doesn’t display a description for all products. It is “too busy”.
Figure 5
In Figure 5 I am filtering by year 2013 and just a handful of products. Web Intelligence has the most page views on SCN tutorials and it is interesting to see that Dashboards has more views than the Information Design Tool. Design Studio, a product that was GA back in November, has over 30K views in tutorials.
Figure 6
Figure 6 shows a subset of the number of views on YouTube tutorials, which is slowly catching up to SCN page views. I expect SCN page views to always be higher though, as many companies have blocked YouTube from corporate networks.
Future analysis could include grouping by SAP’s product types including dashboarding, analysis, self-service, etc.
I couldn’t find a way to download the dataset from the Lumira Cloud; perhaps that functionality is not there yet.
