SAP Startup Forum was held in SAP Labs China, Shanghai, on 6th and 7th of August, 2013. It was the first time that SAP Startup Forum being held in China. Many promising startups in the areas of big data, predictive, real-time analytics solutions attended the event. UA also invited some professors and students from Shanghai Jiaotong University, Fudan University and Tongji University to come.
Dr. Vishal Sikka, member of SAP AG Executive Board, delivered a welcome speech and answered questions raised by the participants about SAP HANA and Startup Focus Program.
Dr. Wen-Syan Li, Vice President & Head of SAP’s Design & New Applications gave a Technical Overview of SAP HANA and showed a vivid demo of applications developed based on SAP HANA.
Colleagues from Startup team introduced SAP Startup Focus Program to the participants. The founders of two startup companies shared their experience with other startups.
The most exciting part is Startup Pitches. Representatives of different startups expressed their ideas and showed their eager for SAP HANA to help solving problems that they faced.
The second day was SAP HANA Coder Camp. Lectures regarding SAP HANA modeling and Application Development were delivered. Over 20 startups, professors and students participated and experienced SAP HANA and interacted with each other during the one day camp.
Wei Zhihua, Lecturer of Tongji University,said: “SAP HANA is a very powerful platform integrating many data mining algorithms.I will encourage my students to learn SAP HANA.”
Students from Shanghai Jiaotong University, said: “It is a great opportunity for us to know more about SAP HANA. And the In
novative ideas from startup inspired us.”
