Easy Query – How the lifecycle of EQ works.

This blog complements the blog “Easy queries on SAP NetWeaver BW” written by Uwe Fisher, giving additional information about the Easy Query (EQ) Lifecycle.

Currently there is no wiki available for easy query and so I use this blog to provide additional information to “Easy Query”

Easy Query lifecycle contains generating and deleting for all EQ artifacts depending on the EQ-flag status within Query designer. Generate and deleting EQs is executed by the person who has the authorities and knowledge to build and change queries.

If one want to use the query and the related EQ in other systems one has to transport the query.

EQ itself cannot be transported as it is no transportable object. Only the query definition with the EQ-flag is transported.

If the transport request arrives in the target system and get executed the changed query definition is applied to target system. With this the after-import method detects the EQ-flag changes and triggers the EQ processing steps. The after-import is always executed in context of DDIC user.
