Old technique of Currency Translation which uses translation type is obsolete in SAP BW 7.3 on HANA

Old technique of Currency Translation which uses translation type shown below is obsolete in SAP BW 7.3 or SAP BW 7.3 on HANA.

This is applicable only when you are trying to migrate the existing data flow of 3.x version to 7.x version.

Below is an example of translation type which were been removed in new SAP BW 7.3..

I was just desperately searching for a solution for this because we use lot of currency translation types to convert to requisite currencies..

At last I was into a conclusion after contacting SAP that the above technique is mainly used for currency translation in Bex so this type of currency traslation types should not be used in transformations..

So for all those who use this kind of technique can follow the below solution...which gave good result..

After migrating the data flow from 3.x to 7.x..all the routine's written in 3.x version in transfer or update rules will be modified and will be regenerated with a new technique of OOABAP..

Following is an example where we used this type currency translation type..

Eg:I am trying to convert a company code currency(EUR) to local currency(USD)..

Proposed solution:

-Create a ZFUNCTION_MODULE and write the requisite code for importing company code currency and different parameters like calday,rate e.t.c., and export the converted currency.

-Write a routine in transformation call the above created function module which will convert the currency values to local currency.
