Internpalooza – Intern Hacker Festival

This past Saturday, July 20 a bunch of awesome people (Juergen Schmerder, Gigi Read, Alexander Graebe, Rocky Ongkowidjojo, Danielle DeZorzi and myself) participate in an awesome event called Intern Hacker Festival…awesome, isn’t it? 😉

You may have two questions…why is all about and why did SAP was there?

Let’s answer the first one…

So basically, interns went there to have fun, play games, do networking and speak with companies in a really casual and informal way.

Now, for the second questions…we had a nice booth…

And…due to the huge success of the “SAP HANA Validator” that we present at the Campus Connections event…we decided to take things to the next level and present our shiny new “SAP HANA Challenge”…

So a new question will arise…what’s the SAP HANA Challenge all about? Well…as you can see in the picture…it’s a One-on-One game where based on our Movies Database, you need to answer questions by writing down the SQL Query…you compete against the clock (only 3 minutes to solve it) and of course…against your opponent…as whoever gets the answer first…wins the round…after 3 rounds…you win the game. Also…you can see that had a “Cup”…well…each participant received 5 gold coins…after each game, the winner got a coin from the person who lose…so at the end of the day, the people with more coins entered the final…but we will see more about that later…let’s see more pictures of this fierce warriors in action 😉

Around 4:00pm we started the setup for the finals…

The final round between Karla and Aaron was really exciting! These two were so good and fast that only the quickest “Enter” button hit decided the winner…

In the end…Aaron won the cup…but Karla gave him a really hard time 😉 Congratulations to both of them! 😎

And of course…we’re already thinking in all the improvements and goodies that we’re going to implement for the next version…and maybe you will be able to compete in the next Bay Area event… 😈
