Transaction and Screen Variants for limiting Standard Transactions

Introduction-
The Standard Transactions for the selection screen provides some fields which are either not used or meant to be displayed for some users. For this purpose, either we have to enhance the standard code with the help of ABAP or we can do it without ABAP with the help of Transaction variants.
The transaction variants can enhance the selection fields of the standard transaction by either restricting the editing or making them invisible for some users by user group. This tool can also create the transaction code of the variant made.

Transaction Code- SHD0

Usage-
In this document we will be making one field in the selection screen as grey i.e. non editable and will make some fields invisible. This screen variant will be then assigned to a new Transaction Code.

Steps-

1. T-code- SHD0
Enter the Transaction which you want to modify and enter the name of transaction variant.

      Hi Sijin,

I have learnt that thing that's why I shared my knowledge. It may be possible that there are many documents but they are either arranged haphazardly or not clearly guiding.
I have presented them in a most simple way.

Please talk to me either on my mail or in private message. Please don't violate SCN rules and spoil this document.

      Regards,

      Siddharth

Sijin Sij is not violating SCN rules by pointing out that there is a similar document addressing the same issue. It is entirely appropriate to make challenges.

As I understand the rules, so long as the documents meet a minimum quality standard, are not immensely basic and obvious, and do not copy from each other (or anyone else), duplicate content is permitted. One might be clearer than the other to some people.

      Hi Sidddharth,

Its always good to search before posting and thereby making sure that almost identical scenario or concept is already posted or not.

I understand you have put efforts to make the document but in a longer run you will find these tips useful.

      Regards,

      AL
