PURPOSE
To describe to the SAP community that the Syclo Agentry platform is not only the standard out of the box products (SAP Work Manager, Inventory Manager, Sales Manager, Service Manager and others) for specific application but it is used for designing custom application (SAP Agentry).
In order to describe this particular comment, we have to study the partners who take the platform and create their own product to sell to their own end customers. Of course they have to meet certain licensing criteria with SAP/Syclo or a not to compete. One good example and case is the Oracle community. Oracle customers need a way to mobilize their database. Oracle has lots of customers and they have their own EAM. They also believe in mobility. In order for them to mobilize their EAM product they also partner with system integrator or consulting firms. The example I am presenting below is from a strong partner of SAP Syclo - Ventureforth and now due to the acquisition they are using SAP Mobile Syclo Agentry for all their products.
In my opinion you can say Oracle RUN SAP - at least in mobile.
EXAMPLE:
I have compiled examples that I saw online on certain customization done by the SAP Syclo partner Ventureforth in presenting to the Oracle community their products. If you look at their demos, all of them are design in SAP Syclo Agentry. They created all the read steps, fetches and update in Oracle (this includes attach document and others). I remembered them asking for a lot of help from Syclo to help them deliver their custom design products to production. I know they have multiple production releases with thousands of mobile users utilizing their products that are powered by SAP Mobile Syclo Agentry.
I would use my example below to just show the community that the SAP Mobile Syclo Agentry is not just out of the box, you can design your own. I chose the partner Ventureforth because they specialize in Oracle. I did not have enough time to see the custom products of Accenture, BRG, Ascom, CSC, Path, IAP World Services, Mainstream, Ciber, AssetPoint, TCS and others. Each of those respective partners has their own backend from Java, SQL to HTTPXML, ActiveX and others.
Here are the examples of the custom design using SAP Mobile Agentry for Oracle eAM by Ventureforth:
- vMobile and AutoVue for Oracle eAM (with attach document - using external tools AutoVue called within Agentry).
- vWork for Oracle eAM on Tablet
- Perform Oracle WIP Return in E-Business Suite R12
- Perform Cycle Counts for Oracle.
These are just some examples I found that proves that SAP Mobile Syclo Agentry is not just an out of the box EAM functionality but used for customizing your own application from scratch (you can even have some small mini app for convention schedule planning - sync your Android device to get the conference schedule or to get information on a local bar close to the convention). I am not advertising for the partner but I had to show enough examples on what the partner did to create their own custom brand able product using SAP Mobile Agentry platform. The partner has multiple Oracle production customers powered by SAP Mobile Syclo Agentry.
In essence, we can say Oracle RUNS SAP Mobile as proven above via SAP Syclo partner Ventureforth (partner of Oracle). You can do your own research on them or research on the partners I specified above because most of them have cool apps (you got to see some of their custom iOS/Android or CE designs from Agentry to make sense of the statement).
