Getting an Out-of-the-Box IT Workload Dashboard Working in Solution Manager 7.1

I had been trying to get this to work for a while, forgot about it, then tried it again yesterday when I was doing my daily Solution Manager tasks.

Prerequisite: BEx Query 0SPR_WORKLOAD_OF_MESSAGES must be activated; it was not activated in my system so as a result it was never working for me.  To activate, go to RSA1 and follow the normal steps to activate in BW.

Next, under the SM_CRM transaction, select ITSM BW Dashboard.

In the upper right corner, select Add New App

Select ITSM Workload app

Then a wizard will walk you through the steps, asking you the transaction types to display.

I selected two transaction types.

This is how it looks:

So the hardest part and the stumbling block was getting the BEx query activated – other than that, everything else was very simple.

      Hi Tammy

I managed to get this working, but performance is terrible. Do you know how to improve the response time of this dashboard? It takes about half an hour to refresh my dashboard 🙁

      Regards

      Rob

Rob - I am only using this against small amounts of data; best recommendation is to run RSRT transaction against 0SPR_WORKLOAD_OF_MESSAGES query and see the performance there.

If performance is good, then I recommend either posting on the SCN forums so other experts can offer advice or open a ticket with SAP support.

      Regards,

      Tammy

Thanks for the fast response, Tammy

Now I get "An error has occurred while trying to execute BW query 0SPR_WORKLOAD_OF_MESSAGES" and my systems seems to have gone totally unresponsive (even RSRT renders no result).

Looks like I'll have to open a ticket.

      Regards

      Rob
