If you are going to try this yourself, take note of the SAP Help:

  • doesn’t support cross tab
  • keep it small
  • portrait only, as landscape is not supported in Mobile BI
  • use the templates

I created an application, targeting the iPad:

Then I selected the first iPhone template

I added my own data source to the template:

Here are the results on the iPhone:

    Hi Tammy,

did you use the SAP BI IOS App ?

We tried to do this but it didn’t work, because we could not see the Design Studio application in the IOS App.

    Regards,

    Tobias

Restrictions are noted in the SAP help – as mentioned above:

          • doesn’t support cross tab
          • keep it small
          • portrait only, as landscape is not supported in Mobile BI
          • use the templates

Also, similar to what Tobias mentioned, I couldn’t get the iPhone to work on Mobile BI 5.0 – only through the URL/QR codes.  I haven’t taken the time to log a note with SAP.

            Hi Tammy,

i logged a note with SAP and i got a solution for the problem.

            Change the property

            document.supported.devices=ipad,iphone

in the zen.properties file in the below mentioned location

            <bobj install dir>\Tomcat\webapps\MobileBIService\WEB-INF\classes\internal\zen.properties

Important information: clear Tomcat cache and restart.

            Regards,

            Tobias
