Enterprise Mobility is the new Standard
Gartner organized a CIO & IT Executive Summit in Germany for the first time on June 17 and SAP Global IT was there. Designed specifically for CIOs and IT executives in the DACH region, the Summit provided the strategic insights, cutting-edge IT research and real-world case studies to propel companies to improve performance and achieve growth. The main focus was to encourage IT and key business unit leadership teams to work together to achieve significant business traction through the strategic optimization and leverage of a sound and cost-efficient IT Strategy.
These were some of the hot topics during the summit:
- CIO Leadership
- Security and Risk Management
- Mobility and Social Media Optimization
- Business Intelligence
SAP Consulting and SAP Global IT worked together not just to show the SAP colors at the show, but to talk about SAP Runs SAP in the area of Enterprise Mobility at the booth, on stage and in networking events.
But let’s start with – honor to whom honor is due – Prof. August-Wilhelm Scheer. Scheer started his keynote with his jazz band – very cool!
Christine Schöneweis, SVP at SAP Global IT and Head of Global IT Strategy and Operations, was in great demand during the event. Schöneweis gave an introduction speech, hosted the premium sponsor lunch and was on stage for Enterprise Mobility in the afternoon. Here are the key messages of her presentation:
- SAP has established a true mobile mindset
- SAP Global IT rolled out more than 30k tablets and 40k smartphones and BlackBerrys to the workforce
- BYOD is a strategic goal
- We manage all our devices with SAP Afaria
- The Mobile Solution Centers at SAP are key to changing user experience and the role of IT for mobility support
- Enterprise Mobility is a great chance for the CIO and IT to create value – don’t miss it
But listen on your own. Here is a five minutes cutout (sorry – it’s in German only):
Do you know Markus Merk? Not? Really not? Ok, so you are no German soccer fan. Dr. Markus Merk is dentist, probably the most famous soccer referee, six-time winner of the German Referee of the Year Award, three-time winner of the FIFA Referee of the Year Award and the record holder in games refereed in the Bundesliga.
Merk joined the event for the gala dinner and gave a speech about the right decision, motivation andwhat is important in life.
Matthias Wild – proud to be part of SAP Global IT where SAP runs SAP.
