Dear all,

My name is Cristina Antelo and I have just joined the SAP Community Network as moderator in the Sustainability area.

Among other roles within the SAP family, I am the EMEA coordinator for the Sustainability Champions Network. The SAP Sustainability Champions network is a decentralized network with the objective to spread and facilitate sustainability inside the organization.

Sustainability is my passion. Our love story began at an early age while I was studying Economics at the University in Madrid and I took the International Trade and Development speciality. During these years I realised about the social an enviromental impact all economies have.

I am a believer ! I truly believe that society, environment and economy are closely connected, and they have to walk somehow, hand in hand. I hope in this blog we can define that “somehow”.

I would like to welcome all of you to what I would like to become an interactive forum to debate about Sustainability and CSR topics. I would be happy if this space became an interactive blog where we can all participate and exchange knowledge, ideas and experiences around these areas and who knows….maybe even new solutions that help society, environment and economy walk hand in hand as I believe it should.

Happy week to everyone!

Cristina

    Cristina:

Welcome!  I’m glad you took my advice to introduce yourself to the community.

What do you see as a couple short term goals for this space?  There’s been good discussion around electric vehicles [ Plugless Power: Will Inductive Charging Change the Game for EVs? ], triggered by new-ish SAP Mentor Moya Watson.

Can we leverage the SCN gamification tools to assist? [see my and other posts in the SAP Gamification space].  What about other metrics?

Thanks for being here Cristina Antelo  and thanks for the shout-out Jim Spath

Though I’m not a moderator in sustainability, it’s true there is a lot of traction around the electric vehicles topic – the connected vehicles topic in general.  I’m curious Cristina how many moderators are there for the Sustainability space?

On the other hand, a lot of sustainability topics cross the organization — for example, there’s a great thread on EVs and power over in the Business Trends space –

      http://scn.sap.com/community/business-trends/blog/2013/06/18/will-electric-vehicles-boost-harmful-emissions

And we also – just with EVs alone – span Utilities as well as Automotive spaces.  So it’s hard for me to say that the conversation around sustainability can be corraled into one space.

Great that the conversation is here no matter which space.

      thanks

Thanks Moya and Jim for your warm welcome to this community!

My main short term goal would be to help this space to become a reference point in the

sustainability topic. I would like people think about this space when searching for pages where they can exchange knowledge, ideas and experiences around this topic. A space that provide to them with solutions, in the social and enviromental area.

I.e, the blog posted by our Yazhao Liu, “Donation is not all in Corporate Social Responsibility”, where he is reporting his experience with the “left-behind children” in China. A great idea has been already suggested to Yazhao to help him to improve the situation of these children.

Do you see this goal feasible?

Regarding the metrics, thanks for pointing this out Jim, and to be honest, I am not very familiarized with Gamification. But I will give a look at it and think about it. We can discuss it together if you wish.

    Cristina
