SAP HANA Cloud is ISO-27001 Certified

Information Security is always considered important for the IT industry, but for on-demand software services it is really critical. Since the launch of SAP HANA Cloud Platform, our customers more and more request guarantees their data is processed securely and controlled effectively. As our mission is to host and run business critical applications, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of customer data is of utmost importance.

To prove our world class service delivery, we decided to strive for the ISO/IEC 27001:2005 Information Security certification. ISO 27001 is an internationally acknowledged Information Security Management System (ISMS) standard and the certification ensures that effective security controls and policies are in place. The ISO 27001 ISMS includes a risked-based approach to compliance combined with an effective, comprehensive, and measurable set of information security management practices.

Now we are very pleased to announce the ISO/IEC 27001:2005 certification for SAP HANA Cloud Platform and SAP HANA Cloud Portal. The certificate from TÜV NORD demonstrates that SAP HANA Cloud Platform and Portal are operated by a first rate Information Security Management System to ensure the security of the operational processes.

The SAP HANA Cloud information security management system is embedded in the SAP Cloud Operations framework, used for products like SAP Business ByDesign. Reusing and leveraging the proven SAP Cloud security management practices provides SAP HANA Cloud a high level of credibility and trust, also attested by the external auditor.

The ISO 27001 certification demonstrates our ongoing commitment to ensuring our customer’s information security requirements are met.
