Most people know that my background is Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing. So, they are getting surprised when hearing I am doing something with mobile these days. The thing is if we look at all growing areas of IT – ie. real-time data management, mobile, cloud and collaboration – they are not all separate siloed independent pieces. I cannot be blind to the facts as well:

  • „Google revealed that as of today, there have been 900 million Android devices activated. That number was 400 million a year ago. Android is growing like crazy.” [source]
  • „There are 4 babies born every second worldwide…” [source]

This means there are around 1,370,000 Android devices activated every day, while only 345,600  babies are born at the same time.

This should be no surprise now, that our very first SAP CodeJam event in Poland was on the topic of SAP Mobile Platform. As I mentioned in my previous post it was natural continuation of other conferences we participated in Poland earlier this year.

I would like to thank Wolfgang Scheer from SAP Rapid Innovation Group (RIG), who found time to visit Poland to be a trainer. My colleagues Lukasz Piatkowski Adam Goljan from SAP Polska office helped to organize the event in Warsaw. And our colleagues from CapGemini (I would like to thank Filip Reiter especially) helped to host the event in Wrocław.

We did not have much time to take many photos, but a few are available on CodeJam’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.353824471409606.1073741845.148283928630329&type=3

SAP CodeJam is primarily the coding event, but on numerous requests let me share the slides presented there:

I am looking forward for next CodeJam events in Poland. Most probably it will be on the topic of SAP HANA database, but you can share your requests in comments too.

    Vitaliy,

Since Poland seems to have the highest share of WinPhone developers, is there anything brewing between them and Fiori, for instance?

HANA is so hot (a topic) that attendance is guaranteed, IMHO.

    have fun!

Interestingly enough, I haven’t met a single WinPhone developer here in Poland. Seems like they are hanging out only on their own events… Almost like SAP’s community in the past 😉
