Inside Story About
Hello Every One,
I wanted to share about my successful completion of SAP Certification – Associate Level held during the month of April 2013 here in Bangalore. I thought of sharing my story because it is totally different.
My Profile:
Miss: Pramila Nagaraj from Bangalore Karnataka (India)
Qualification: MBA Finance (Management Graduate 2010)
Work Experience – Fresher
First I wanted tell you all about how I got entry into SAP Authorized Center?
I had undergone SAP FICO Training at local center SAPTAC and SAPPHIRE Consulting Services Bangalore during 2011. After completing 45 days of training, I had started configuring my SAP System version ECC 6.0 and R/3- 4.7. I became familiar with configuration steps. I had included about my SAP IDES Practice session in my CV. After this I started searching for SAP FICO Entry level jobs in Bangalore. Some companies started asking SAP Certification after seeing my CV. My hands were folded; I could not apply for the entry level certified roles as a fresher. After having struggle of 2 years in job search for not being certified in SAP, I had prepared a real concept for Fresh Graduates to get SAP Training with Authorized Centers. I shared this concept with all major SAP Training Partners of Bangalore. I had also shared slide share link about my missed out roles of 2011, 2012, 2013 January for not being certified. They had reviewed it and I got response from SourceOne first. Second was ATOS and 3rd was Lithan Genovate. SourceOne Business Head reviewed my missed out opportunities of Bangalore. I had shown them a hard copy of my missed out roles. They were shocked after seeing my research and missed out opportunities. They also said me that they have not seen a candidate like me. By this way as a Fresh Graduate I got chance for SAP Training & Certification here in Bangalore.
Name of the Center: SourceOne Management Services Pvt Ltd, Bangalore (www.msourceone.com)
About the Center:
It is located at Bannerghutta Main Road, J.P.Nagar 3rd Phase. SourceOne environment for SAP Training is really good. There were 4 Training Class rooms; they also have Online Training Lab facility equipped with more than 100 systems. They have Certified Trainers for each module of SAP. IT Infrastructure at this center is A Class.
My Training & Learning Experience:
I had selected ILTC – Instructed Led Class Room Training. Duration was 25 days including E learning. I completed E Learning before the commencement of Class room Training. On the very first day of training my trainer started with Theory and Configuration, TFIN 50 Part 1 – 5 days, TFIN 50 Part 2 – 5 days, TFIN 52 – 5 days. After each class they conducted revision. During 4th week my trainer conducted Class Test on TFIN50 1&2 and TFIN52. Learning theory and configuration was not a difficult task for me. I had done rigorous study before joining this training. I enjoyed learning new version SAP ERP 6.0 EHP 5. Difficulty level was less for me. Since I was familiar with configuration part.
I felt very happy that I had selected SourceOne center for SAP Training. Their Training and Coaching was really excellent. Doing each day revision I started gaining confidence to clear my exam. In class test I secured 74% overall score. In my batch there were only 3 candidates including myself. My trainer cleared my doubts by giving real examples. I got full support from my Trainer and moral support from Business Head of SourceOne.
My Preparation for Certification:
Right from day 1 of Class room Training I started preparing for exam simultaneously. My trainer gave me instructions to go through each topic 5 to 6 times and said not to work much on Practical exercises. So I followed my Trainer instructions right from day 1. After each class, I used to study daily for 6 hours. Prepared my notes for TFIN 50 1 & 2 and TFIN 52 in One note book. During Class room training I studied SAP Material 2 times. I had 10 days gap for Exam Preparations. During these 10 days I read SAP Material 1 time and read my notes thoroughly 10 times. I did not have any difficulty or stress in last movement of preparation. It went very smooth. My preparation duration was 30 days in total.

Congratz girl, from your blog, I can see that you are indeed very passionate about being a SAP Consultant. May the force be with you 🙂
Hi Pramila,
Thanks for sharing this info and its a wealth for freshers.. Well I visited quite a few autorised training centres and also the same sourceone in JP Nagar wherein I liked the environment but unable to take any decision to go ahead with them or not.. Though they promise to get you placed and emphasize that they only train candidates according to the requirements they get from their clients (they claim to have few of the major names as their clientele)... but I am wondering why they've failed to place you even though their core business is a job consultancy.. and its been more than 2 years since you have successfully passed out with good score.. Don't you feel let down by them?
Either they are making tall claims (I might be wrong, they might be genuine and I apologise for my ignorance) or there is just very less chances to get a job after certification unless you are experienced enough..
I have done a masters and I got around 6 years of experience in sales and marketing domain as a total fresher to SAP and planning to pursue CRM module.. Any suggestions????
Thanks,
Aman
Hello Aman, I am a in-total Fresh Graduate with no experience in F&A, I'm directly looking for SAP Consultant Roles. Many SAP Companies prefer Fresh Graduates along with Certification. I have already missed some big time roles during 2011-2012-2013 Jan for not being certified in SAP FI. This year only SAP Education Partners have understood my struggle and they responded me. If they had allowed me in 2011 for training & certification, I would have settled in my SAP Career either in Robert Bosch/Deloitte/HCL Technologies. Today also I saw one company had a requirement for SAP BO Certified Fresher - Fresh Graduate - Company : Blue Star Infotech Ltd Bangalore.
SAP Education Partners work for SAP Partners, they train up candidates based on SAP Partners requirement, whenever they have requirement they will surely hire certified candidates. Again its not a mass recruitment, openings will be limited. SourceOne/ATOS/LithanGenovate have started allowing Fresh Graduates for SAP FI/SD/CO/ABAP Training. So far SourceOne has sent me some jobs of SAP Partners, The requirement type is contract roles, which I'm not willing to enter. I'm waiting for Permanent roles in Bangalore alone.
Now a days companies won't look for domain experience, they just keep on asking certification or sap end to end implementation. Try to focus on SAP Project directly.
You can go for SAP CRM

Hi Pramila,
Thanks for the insight. But I am not coming across any fresher requirement with 0 experience, be it certified or non-certified (campus recruitment being an exception) or be it in India or abroad.. but may be your are right, may be my research is not that good.. Most of the blogs, community which I come across suggests me to gain experience first, but for experience you need at least certification to break in.. and some say certification doesn't guarantee you any experience.. a catch 22 situation..
Yet I am planning to go for the certification as I find it the only ethical way rather using fake experience or going for a non-authorised centre and paying pretty much the same amount..
Expecting advice from some more people in this community..
Regards,
Aman
