In this tutorial I am going to create an URL iView. URL iView is used for viewing the contents of the external web pages in the iView. It is also used for viewing the contents of the external files where the file should be uploaded into the EP system.

Logon to the SAP NetWeaver Portal with Administrative rights. Choose “Content Administration”, create an iView by right clicking on the folder in which the iView should be created.

From the list of templates select “URL iView” and click on Next button. Fill all the required information and press Next.

It will ask for the URL Path. Enter the URL.

Note 1: The URL should start with HTTP://

Note 2: Some websites don’t allow to display the pages in the iView Frame work. For example: www.google.com. Take care of these kind of websites.

It is also possible to display only part of webpage by capturing the required part. After entering the URL click on “Browse/Capture” button. In the popup window in browser tab you can browser for the URL that is to be displayed. Enter the URL in this tab.

Go to Capture tab. When you take cursor on the web page dotted block is displayed, select part of the webpage that is to be displayed. After selecting, click on Preview to preview the content. Press ok to close window. Check the below image where the selected part is in light orange color.

Add this iView to the Page.

Note: The contents that is displayed will be in poor GUI.

After creating iView successfully, open the page where this iView should be embedded. Right click on the iView and add to the page using the Delta Link.

Note: If Delta Link is selected, then the changes made to iView will be reflected in the Page, the changes get updated. Selecting “Copy” won’t reflect the changes made to iView after adding the Page.
