Service Management – Define Default Order Type for Maintenance Items

Today my series continues on SAP Service Management configuration.  Today I’m going to talk about the default order types for maintenance items.  It’s another relatively simple piece of configuration.

Here’s where you can find the configuration in SPRO

Now you’ll notice that the key fields are planning plant (PlPl) and Planner Group (PlannerGrp).  This piece of configuration is useful if you have a large enough planning plant/organization that you may need to segregate your planner groups into their own service order type.  It not something I’ve typically configured, yet it is a nice piece of information to keep in your back pocket.
