On May 15, 2013 at SAPPHIRE NOW in Orlando, Florida, SAP today announced that Saint Leo University, located in Saint Leo, Florida, has joined the SAP University Alliances program. At a signing ceremony, Saint Leo University was represented by Dr. Michael Nastanski, Dean of School of Business, and Dr. Balbir Bal, Associate Dean of School of Business. Ann Rosenberg, global head of SAP University Alliances, signed a certificate of membership on behalf of SAP. Alex McLeod, University Alliances program manager, congratulated Dr. Nastanski and Dr. Bal.

Saint Leo University is a pioneer in providing degree programs including distance learning opportunities to a global market. SAP provides Saint Leo with free licenses for software applications and helps it integrate SAP software into its teaching program. Saint Leo is hosted by the University Competence Center (UCC) at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The UCC maintains the SAP solutions deployed at Saint Leo so that professors can concentrate on communicating the curriculum content to students.

“We’re delighted to be able to include SAP software and University Alliances curriculum in our business program,” said Dean Nastanski. “This enhances our ability to prepare a new generation of business leaders with the applied skills needed in an economy where business insights are needed in real time.” “Participation in SAP University Alliances supports our strategic pillars of preparing students with the applied technology, data analysis, and improved critical thinking needed by today’s business leaders.”

Saint Leo University is a private, non-profit, Roman Catholic liberal arts university located in Saint Leo, Florida. Saint Leo University was one of the first American universities to provide distance learning opportunities to students, beginning to educate military men and women in 1973. Saint Leo University offers over 40 associate, baccalaureate, and master's degree, and certificate programs, and is inaugurating its first doctoral program in 2013.

SAP University Alliances supports colleges and universities in building the talent needed by SAP and its customers and partners, and channels innovation from universities into the SAP ecosystem. In fulfilling its goal of educating future corporate leaders, SAP University Alliances provides connections between students, customers, partners, and SAP experts. SAP donates licenses to over 1,300 University Alliances member institutions and fully outfits their professors with software and curriculum which provides students with hands-on experience with SAP applications, analytics, mobile, database & technology, cloud, and SAP HANA solutions.
