Mobile, Off-line, HTML5 SAP dashboards

At the recent SAP Sapphire in Orlando, Anita Gibbings (solution marketing director for SAP Dashboards) was kind enough to arrange for me to shoot the following quick video for SAP Analytics TV to show the capabilities which Antivia XWIS adds to SAP Dashboards inside SAP Mobile BI.

This is made possible by the release of the SAP Dashboards SDK with BI 4.1 and means that now mobile dashboards can benefit from all the same XWIS capabilities that are available to desktop / Flash dashboards.

However, talking to people at the show there is one feature in particular which makes XWIS for mobile SAP Dashboards stand out and that is off-line data access.

As you can see towards the end of the video, XWIS allows data to be taken off-line whilst still retaining complete interactivity (drill, pivot, …). There is no need for users to pre-visit the data while on-line and it is possible for off-line dashboard to contain many tens of thousands of rows of data (more than enough for your average interactive dashboard).

In addition XWIS makes creating these dashboards simple and easy. No wrestling with multiple data connections or pages of complex Excel formulas, in fact the dashboard in the video took less than 4 minutes to create and publish.

As BI 4.1 is now in ramp-up, we would love to hear from anyone who is deploying mobile SAP Dashboards and would like to use XWIS to add these extra capabilities.
