Just 30% Project Cost & 25% Project Duration? ‘Yes, We Can’ Says Kennametal Inc.
At this year’s SAPPHIRE NOW and ASUG Annual Conference representatives from Kennamteal Inc. were providing insights on best practices and their overall SAP Support experience. Maybe you have read the blog post by Nadine Huelsen where she highlighted that Kennametal and other SAP reference customers have shared their knowledge during panel discussions and ASUG sessions at the event. But colleagues from Kennametal were also available at the SAP Active Global Support Center for direct conversations with other SAP customers which was highly appreciated and very well perceived.
Why is Kennametal – a global industrial component supplier – so keen to share its SAP story? The answer is simple: Kennametal obviously is an extremely happy SAP client. The results of Kennametal’s business transformation speak for itself:
- 92% business processes based on SAP Best Practices for IM&C
- 18% reduction in legacy applications
- 30% project cost compared to consultants’ approaches
- 25% project duration compared to consultants’ proposals
How has this been achieved? Kennametal initiated to become more customer facing, requiring them to completely revise business processes and their 15 years old SAP ERP applications by leveraging industry best practices supported by SAP.
