Details: update of the SQL command from the universe failed. This report cannot be refreshed unless the SQL command is updated from the universe

I got this error and scared to death that if i have to re-create all.

What I had:

I had four different crystal reports that each has 20 different sub reports. Each sub report was hitting at a universe and grabbing different data set. These Reports are meant for daily run, on schedule. And it took almost 7 months to complete the universe, create reports, and format and reformat them for users. database oracle 11g, crystal 2011, BO 4.0

Problem:

Due to some issue relating to migration from 3.1 to 4.0 the group has to re- migrate all the stuff from 3.1. (re-mirror the 3.1 to 4.0).
Some how, the universe got corrupted. admin doesn't know how..maybe god knows better. we ran into problem with few reports, but after updating it from back up. they worked fine. Except those crystal reports that were based of universe.

Issue:

Although the universe was retrieved from back up copy. But BO assigned it a new CUID or some different keys. Crystal reports were looking for OLD universe in its respective place.
(i was sacred to death by just thinking that if i had to recreate them).

Solution:
In my case, i open each sub report, Click>database>set database location
on top side> it tells where it is pointing right now.
on bottom side> i choose "Change to New Universe"
create a connection and just hit update on the right.
The sub report was able to run perfectly fine.

ONLY hitch was i had to do this for all 80 sub reports. And some time i will get rtti connection error. And for this, i have to save my work and close the crystal client. Reopen them and start working.
