What Industry expects from HANA DEVELOPERS

I would say this post is to create job market awareness among new HANA Developers and give them some sort of assistance to learn skills which industry expects. I know there are lot of roles which not only require HANA development knowledge but also required integration with other modules.

I have highlighted Developer Roles,

Following job posting were copied from various job portals to understand what industry expects from HANA Developers

Job Title Requirements What should a new Dev Learn
Application Developer

Responsible for Design, Development of SAP HANA Information Models. Strong experience with SQL Script, PL/SQL, Stored Procedures, Function Calls, Designing tables, data loads, Building HANA Views (Attribute, Analytical & Calc Views), testing with BI Reporting tools

HANA Studio ( Modeler perspective, Administration Console) , SQL Functions and SQLScript Language, BODS , DATA Transformation and linking with BI
SAP HANA Consultant

Experience with building data models       

Understands HANA’s architecture..       

Demonstrated hands-on experience in SQL script. —-                

Knowledge of SAP SLT replication server is highly desirable.                   

Experience with ETL tools (such as Data Services) to extract both SAP and non-SAP data             

Experience with SAP HANA’s extended application services           

Experience of BW to HANA implementation is highly desired                  

Experience with requirements validation.

What we could see is there are whole lot of information and tutorials out there, but none of them stated how it will fit in to the context of development job.
