“They’re packing meals to feed about 400 orphans in Sierra Leone,” Jackie Montesino Suarez of SAP Corporate Social Responsibility told SAP TV. “The meals packed at this event will feed them for about a year.”
SAP executives, customers and partners volunteered for 30-minute shifts assembling rice, soy powder and spices into a meal that helps build up the children’s immune system and reverse effects of starvation. The goal is to ensure that every child has at least one nutritious meal per day.
“It’s about helping young people,” said Avery Johnson, a retired basketball player and coach for the National Basketball Association. “I want to congratulate the NBA for their partnership with SAP.”
