Many thanks to all the SAPPHIRENOW + ASUG Conference attendees for pitching in to help pack meals at the SAPPHIRENOW service event to benefit the Food for Orphans initiative.

The event, held in a ballroom at the Hilton Hotel on May 13 attracted show attendees, SAP partners and exexcutives who pitched in 30-minutes of their time to help pack nutrious rice-based meals destined to go to orphans identified in an area of war-torn Sierra Leone, The day’s event will help feed between 450 to 500 children for one year, according to service event organizers.

On hand at the time that I had dropped by to also donate time to help were NBA legends Avery Johnson and  Gary Payton, who will be entered into the NBA Hall of Fame later this year. Payton, who was helping out the table that I was working at was gracious and said the event is an important project.
