To facilitate and encourage more female students to plan a carrier within the SAP Community - SAP University Alliances will and are running a number of initiatives to engage female students. The SAP University Alliances Team has rolled out education on SAP and SAPs innovation technology platform to more than 650.000 students globally, 30% of whom are female students at more than 1330 universities.

The engagement with the students are e.g. facilitated via an amazing number of events and contests - more than 170 events has already been executed in the first 4 month of 2013, InnoJams, CodeJams, Start-Ups, Design Slams, lectures, seminars and other events as well as contests - many of which are targeted exclusive at female students - a good example being the recently conducted SAP HANA CodeJam in MENA at Zayed University and HCT Women´s Campus in Dubai. Get more details including view the SAP newsbyte. We also have some great interviews from the event – Amala Rajan, Shaikha Ali, Marwa AlMeeza, Maitha AlMulla from Higher Colleges of Technology in Dubai. I will also like to mention “Day of Girls” which was executed at 10 universities (1700 participants) in Hungarian recently. Many more initiativer are in the process of being roll-out:

  • Dedicated CodeJams, Design Slams and Start-ups for female students
  • SAP female students mentor programs
  • Female students communities
  • Internship programs for female students

Many of the initatives will be supported by SAP Business Women Network which is a  network that provides opportunities for women to share their professional insight, mentor and support other women. Watch what makes Women run better at SAP.

We will also be launching a special corner for our female students on SCN where all activities and programs for female students will be posted.

Yours, Ann
