Using CP-Q relationship in TREX

The TREX search engine – by default – uses P A 032 Q as the relationship for searching for a Person’s Qualifications. However, if Concurrent Employment is used in SAP HCM then Qualifications are stored against the CP using CP A 720 Q and TREX will not find any results when searching. To resolve this, customization is required. Luckily, SAP have already considered this scenario and the TREX modelling already exists. As a result, the only changes required are in the IMG.

To enable this navigate to Talent Management and Talent Development > Basic Settings > Search > Define Search Requests and Search Field Names and select Template Name SAP_TALENT_NAKISA. Navigate to the Search Fields dialog step and change the AliasSrchReqFld values for the following Search Field Name values to:

Search Field Name AliasSrchReqFld
S_QUALIFICATION_ID OBJID10
S_QUALIFICATION_PROFICIENCY PSTEXT2
S_QUALIFICATION_PROFICIENCY_KEY CHARA1
S_QUALIFICATION_STEXT STEXT9

Now delete, re-create and index the search object connectors to be able to search for a person’s Qualifications when stored against their Central Person object!
