Pattern Check using SAP Information Steward

SAP Information Steward is a very good tool for all the Data Quality profiling activities. Using the Profile Attribute setting “Distribution”, we can measure and validate the Pattern & Word Distribution on the Particular column. For example in the Email Address Column we can do a quick sampling on the whole lot of records and analyse how many records coming in each pattern.

Step 1: Select a Table and apply ‘Column Profiling’ as shown below.

Step 2: Select Median & Word Distribution options

Step 3: Save & Run the Task

All the patterns are captured by Info Steward

Step 4: Lets select the Email Address Pattern. It will lists all the 6 pattern in the right pane.

Step 5: If you select the pattern, it will show the corresponding Record of the particular pattern.

This will reduce lot of sampling &manual efforts of analyzing the data.
