"The price of light is less than the cost of darkness."
-- Arthur C. Nielsen
Typically, organizations find it challenging to spend more money on analytics and business intelligence given the long litany of limited success and considering any new spending as a cost instead of an investment. Since its introduction two years ago, SAP HANA revolutionized the analytics space and delighted our customers with innovation that is matched by strong customer and partner enthusiasm and adoption. Many customers have embraced HANA’s vision and Art Nielsen’s wisdom. In just two years, SAP HANA has quickly become a best seller!
The road to the promised land (made famous by Gartner’s curve) for every new enterprise technology is not smooth and has many speed bumps before its full potential is achieved. Consequently, SAP has made several investments and allocated resources to help customers adopt and implement HANA successfully. Earlier today, SAP added a big on-ramp to road for realization of value that SAP HANA delivers. This helps customers that are just starting with their HANA projects as well as those with significant investments in the SAP Business Suite. It promises to speed-up the time-to-value for HANA investments significantly as evidenced by the launch customer, Florida Crystals, who migrated and deployed HANA-powered mission-critical applications in just two months. As Vishal Sikka points out in his blog, this is a big step forward in the journey of SAP HANA.
