Years ago I wrote a book published by SAP PRESS called the “SAP Developer’s Guide to PHP” and now 8 years later I am still getting 2 to 3 questions a month from people using the book (although less than 1000 copies sold) and requests for copies (not in print anymore) so I reached out to SAP PRESS and I asked if there was any problem in updating the book slightly and republishing as an eBook. The answer was of course “no problem at all go for it”. Heck my blog posts on the subject are still getting hundreds of views a month and they are old as well.
So I am sitting here looking at what I have left to update, basically I am adding a 7th chapter to the book on connecting to HANA and it got me thinking, maybe I should ask those of you here what else you might like to see in the book? I have no real deadline for finishing so if there is some interesting requests I can try to accommodate them and add them in.
The book updates have included links and mentions of Piers taking over the SAPRFC project, surprisingly the rest of the content was still pretty current. This of course gave me the time to add more on connecting to SAP HANA.
I figure I need the rest of this coming week to finish up the changes, updates and content I want to add in; so I’ll watch this post for comments and suggestions for the next two weeks but then if there aren’t any then I will plan to publish the week of the 13th or 20th.
