Service Management – Define Proposed Reference Time for Technical Completion

Next up, we’re gonna talk about setting the date for technical completion.  This is another easy lesson, but it is a valuable piece to understand if you’re looking for an some changes to the defaults.

Here’s where you can find it in SPRO

This piece of configuration is based purely on the order type.  and it’s a nice easy piece of configuration.

Your options are also very straight forward.  Now, in my experience, I typically see it either as Today’s date or a date entered.  If you’re dealing with in-house repair, I will set it to be Today’s date.  The exception is for things like field service.  In this instance, often the service technicians won’t use SAP or have on-site access, so they need to set the date of technical completion (because it could be several days earlier than the transaction occurred in the system).

That’s all for today.
