As a full-time instructor for SAP Education in the UK, I’m often asked by students whether I get bored teaching all of the time. I always answer this question by explaining that my job is never dull;I get to meet new students every week and enjoy finding out about their SAP experiences, and of course I get great satisfaction from knowing that I am sharing my SAP knowledge and expertise with them.
But of course variety is the spice of life, and what also keeps things interesting for an instructor is the opportunity to get involved with the delivery of exciting new courses, especially those in areas such as SAP HANA.
SAP HANA is big news, and SAP Education was pleased to announce a brand new course in this space: ABAP Programming for SAP HANA (HA400)
This two day course is aimed at experienced ABAP developers who want to understand how to develop and optimize ABAP applications which access data stored in the SAP HANA database.
Some of the topics covered in this course include:
- Overview of technical SAP HANA concepts
- Optimization of classic ABAP in HANA Context
- Using ABAP analysis tools such as Runtime Analysis, Code Inspector and the SQL Trace when working with SAP HANA
- New SQL Performance Rules when working with ABAP for HANA
The course will also teach you how to implement ABAP reports on HANA using ADBC (ABAP Data Base Connectivity), and how you can consume HANA views in ABAP.
I’m excited about delivering this course. For some time now, the ABAP developer community has been wondering about the future of ABAP: what should you be getting involved in, where should you be developing your skills? Well, HANA is a great place to start and there are big opportunities to take advantage of our existing ABAP experience, and use it in such a cutting-edge area as SAP HANA.
If you’re interested in learning more about this course, please see the full course details on our Training & Certification Shop. And be sure to review and bookmark this comprehensive listing of all SAP HANA courses and certifications available from SAP Education.
I look forward to seeing you in the classroom!!
