1.    Inventory Taking enhancement - the Inventory Opening Balances, Inventory Tracking, and Inventory Posting window was removed.

In 9.0, the Inventory Opening Balances, Inventory Tracking, and Inventory Posting window (Inventory --> Inventory Transactions  --> Inventory Opening Balances, Inventory Tracking, and Inventory Posting) is no longer used.

Instead, the Inventory Counting window (Inventory  --> Inventory Transactions -->Inventory Taking --> Inventory Counting) and the Inventory Posting window (Inventory --> Inventory Transactions --> Inventory Taking --> Inventory Posting) are new for inventory taking.

In the Inventory Cycles - Setup window (Administration --> Setup --> Inventory --> Inventory Cycles --> Setup), the Frequency field was renamed to Sequence, and the options of the field were changed to: Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Annually, and None

2.    Find G/L Account window was changed for four windows

In 9.0, the Find G/L Account window was changed for the following windows:

  •   Period-End Closing - Selection Criteria
  •   Document Journal - Selection Criteria
  •    General Ledger - Selection Criteria
  •   G/L Accounts and Business Partners - Selection Criteria

In the Find G/L Account window of the four (4) windows, two (2) new columns Value and To Value were introduced. They are choosing from list instead of drop-down list columns. This results in a change to the column IDs.

Since the window is also used for IFRS reference and UDF fields, the old columns Value and To Value remain unchanged.

3.    The Bar Code field in the Item Master Data window was changed to a choose from list

Previously, the Bar Code field in the Item Master Data window (Inventory --> Item Master Data) was a textbox. In 9.0, the Bar Code field was changed to choose from list. You can choose a defined bar code to set a default bar code for inventory UOM.

4.    The From Warehouse column was added to the line level in the Inventory Transfer window and Inventory Transfer Request window

Previously, for stock transfer and stock transfer request, on the line level, only To Warehouse was available. The From Warehouse column was only available on the header level. In 9.0:

•    For the non-based stock transfer:

o    If you have set From Warehouse on the line level, then the value on the header level does not apply to that on the line level.

o    If you have not set From Warehouse on the line level, the system copies the value from the header level.

•    For the stock transfer based on stock transfer request:

o    To update From Warehouse on the line level, instead of updating the setting only on the header level, you must update it for each line.

o     If you have not set From Warehouse on the line level, the system copies the value from the line level of stock transfer request
