For me personally this will be my first SAPPHIRE NOW and I am very excited in many ways. Firstly of course by being impressed of the show floor and the pure energy this event has. Secondly and much more importantly because I will have the pleasure to demonstrate how SAP runs SAP: I will show you how SAP has integrated the Ariba onDemand solution into the existing SAP onPremise world, bringing the combination of internal and external procurement business processes to the next level.
We implement four major building blocks along the procure-to-pay process, thereby exceeding the boundaries between SAP and our suppliers to enable more efficient and effective buying, selling, and cash management: The three sub-processes Supplier Management, Strategic Sourcing, and Catalog Management in the Ariba onDemand solution support strategic excellence by leveraging procurement negotiation power to increase savings. Purchase Order and Invoice Automation as the fourth sub-process being transferred into the Ariba onDemand solution focuses on operative excellence by significantly reducing manual work and process cycle time. Operational procurement activities remain in the established onPremise world (SRM and ERP) facilitating additional process automation and operational excellence.
