In the last DevTalks series we've talked about the Connectivity Service. The Connectivity Service also supports the sending of emails. During my talk with stephan.merker2 he explained how the email functionality is setup.
The most important thing to understand is that the email functionality is not about providing you with an email box, email gateways or the provisioning of related services. It's about functionality to allow your application to get and send emails via your email provider by using the JavaMail API. In the video you'll get more details.
