Creating a Variant to monitor Process chains:

By creating a variant for monitor the process chains, we can save time by avoiding manual entries daily in the ST13 screen.

It is very much useful for the folks who are working in the support environment and who have to monitor the list of process chains on daily basis.

  • ·         There is a chance of missing few chains when we are entering the Process chains list for monitoring and also chance of not getting triggered.
  • ·         To avoid these kind of risks, we can create a Variant and use it by setting the list of chains and the duration to monitor the status
  • ·         By giving the duration based on our requirement (today & yesterday) or as per the requirement, we can monitor and also can get to know the status      and            frequency of failures/success.

Below are the steps to create a variant to monitor the process chains:

Go to ST13 -> Process Chains (F8) -> Time Zone -> Chain ID -> Copy list of chains to be monitored -> F8

Save as Variant -> Give variant name

Under Objects for selection screen -> Selection Variable ->  F4 -> Dynamic Date Selection

Name of Variable -> Variant Attributes -> Current Date +/-??? (To choose No.of days log (today and yesterday/ Last 3days)

Save. Hence the variant has been created for the given list of Process chians. We can monitor these chains for the given date range. Here we have given date selection as today and yesterday.

Go to ST13 -> Process Chains -> F5 -> Selecte Variant -> Created by "Give User ID" -> F8

Select the variant which we have created

Press F8 -> Hence you will be able to get the Process chians log for today nd yesterday, as follows...
