After the last versions supported the dual-stack split of systems based on SAP NetWeaver 7.0x, the latest version of the dual-stack split procedure available with Software Logistics toolset 1.0 SPS 07 now also supports the split of systems based on SAP NetWeaver 7.3x - for more information, see SAP Note 1797362. That is, you can use the tool to perform the following procedures:

  • Dual-stack split of:
    • Dual-stack SAP Business Suite systems
    • Dual-stack SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse systems
    • Other optional dual-stack SAP NetWeaver systems that run only stack-isolated applications (that is, pure ABAP applications and pure Java applications) that do not have direct dependencies to applications running on the other stack
  • Removing the Java stack of optional dual-stack SAP Business Suite and SAP NetWeaver systems
  • All based on:
    • SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SP14 or higher, SAP NetWeaver 7.0 including EHP1, EHP2, and EHP3
    • SAP NetWeaver 7.3x (new with Software Logistics Toolset 1.0 SPS 07)

The dual-stack split tool is offered via two archives, both available for download today via http://service.sap.com/sltoolset:

  • For systems based on SAP NetWeaver 7.0x, download:
    70DSS21SP<support package number>_<patch level>*.SAR
  • For systems based on SAP NetWeaver 7.3x, download:
    DSS21SP<support package number>_<patch level>*.SAR

With this, we see the dual-stack split procedure as feature-complete. In case you should be facing the requirement to extend the features or coverage of the dual-stack split procedure, please support us by raising corresponding ideas in the software logistics space of SAP Idea Place.
