1.       Enter into the TDMS Work Center using transaction TDMS. Choose ‘Projects’.

1.       Enter into the newly created Project and switch to the EDIT mode.

1.       Click on option ‘Assign’ under column ‘System Landscape’ to assign already defined System Landscape for execution of the Project.

1.       As next step/task, click on button ‘Create Package’ to enter into the process tree for the scenario.

In the Process tree of the newly created Package, execute the first activity ‘Verification of Execution system’ which checks if the Execution System Client is a Production Client.

1.       Now execute the next activity ‘Define Scrambling Rules’.

1.       This takes us to the next screen where we can copy the Scrambling Objects from the Project / from the Work Center. For the current scenario, select ‘Copy from Work Center’.

1.       Choose the SAP delivered Standard Scrambling Object ‘Personnel_Data’ and activate the Rules ‘Rule_Personnel_First_Name’ and ‘Rule_Personnel_Last_Name’ under the group ‘Personnel_Name’ by selecting the checkbox under Column ‘Active’.

1.       After activating the required Scrambling Objects for the scenario, choose ‘Save and Close’.

1.       Proceed with the execution of subsequent activities in the Process tree to complete the Scrambling of HCM Data (Scrambling of Personnel First Name and Last Name).

HoHope this helps.

  • Dear Malthi SS,

I start to work with TDMS and have meet some problems on my first steps with this tool. Could you please advice, what can be a reason, that the activities in package for Stand-Alone Scrumbling can not be executed, I mean I press on the activity (for a sample Verification of Execution System) and nothing happens, the are also empty logs in the transaction code AL11.

    Thank you in advance

    • Hello Elena,

      1) Did you use DIALOG user for Execution system RFC destination settings?

      2) Did you assign role SAP_TDMS_MASTER_CR for both the RFC users?

      • Hello Naveen,

thanks for answer. I am working in the same project like Elena.

        1) Yes, we use the Dialog user for execution system.

        2) We have assigned the role SAP_TDMS_MASTER_CR just in one of system (TDMS).

In another one we could find the role "SAP_TDMS_MASTER_CR ".

But in place of "SAP_TDMS_MASTER_CR" in both system we have assigned the role "SAP_TDMS_MASTER ".

To my knowledge the role "SAP_TDMS_MASTER" contains all other roles

        Is that ok?

        Thanks in advance.

        Best regards,

        • Hello llkin,

Role SAP_TDMS_MASTER is obsolete now. Please use SAP_TDMS_MASTER_CR, this has all the required roles of TDMS 4.0

Also check if the Execution RFC destination is working properly in SM59.

If it doesn't work even after all of the above steps, then raise a ticket to SAP in component CA-TDM-SCR with system connections so that our experts can take a look.

  • I know this post was too old, but I'd like to ask as we're encountering below error when I click the Create Package button in the execution phase step.¬†Looking forward¬†to receive a response.
