Analysis of NCAA March Madness Round of 64 and 32 with #SAPVisi

We decided to use SAP Visual Intelligence and SAP Predictive Analysis with college basketball data to analyze and select the winning teams in this years NCAA march madness basketball tournament. Here’s a recap on how we did after week 1.

Overall Ranking

Using SAP Visual Intelligence and SAP Predictive Analysis and removing any favorite team bias or gut feel the SAP Data Geek squad correctly predicted 11 out of 16 team who made it to the sweet sixteen. This puts SAP’s Data Geek bracket in the 89th percentile of tournament brackets entered.

MidWest

A few mis-reads in the midwest and we didn’t see those Ducks quaking in the data.

South

The south was the strongest part of our bracket, we had most of it but the cinderalla team of the tournament, Florida Gulf.

West

We called the second round Zags loss but to the wrong school and didn’t see Ole Miss ousting Wisconsin.

East

The east picks were solid with the exception of Illinois losing to Miami, tough loss for the Illini.
