In order to use the decision steps and deliver alerts used in ccBPM processes one have to configure an ‘Agent’ as configurable parameter. This blog shortly explains how to do that.

1. First create a new configurable parameter (in this example called Middleware) of the type Agent. Save an activate the ccBPM process.

2. Go to the Integration Directory/Builder and open the integration process containing the agent.

3. Set object to edit mode and enter the value (the real user account as known in SAP business workflow) for the agent.

4. Press ENTER and activate your changes. Please notice; If you don’t press ENTER your changes will not be reflected in the configuration.

From now on the approver (Middleware) can see his/her decision step requests using transaction SBWP as workflow item in his inbox where he can take appropriate action. If configured alerts will also be deliverd in the e-mail inbox of this user.
