For any change management in SAP needed due to government mandates or change in business processes, the flexibility to deploy them quickly and effectively remains a constraint. By the time you are finished with one change deployment the other follows. If SAP environment includes legacy applications integrated to build end to end business processes then there is a high risk that you will miss the deployment deadline.

In such circumstances it is vital :

1. to ensure that the change requirements posted in business blueprint are automatically converted into test plans and test cases and then are assigned to developers and testers and results too are posted back to back. This will ensure that for any change request which test cases are successfully executed and which are not and a project manager then can easily predict whether the deployment will be done within the time frame.

2. In case the legacy applications are available & integrated with SAP and testing is done using different set of tools, there needs a unified platform which will support Sol Man and legacy applications tools too. It will ensure that any change in SAP business process is also been implemented in legacy application.

The Jazz platform from IBM can help gain end to end traceability in such change deployments that covers above stated points. The open platform can also integrate with JIRA, GIT or HPQC tools so that a unified approach to development, testing and deployment is achieved.
