Bypass Pre-requisite for IE9 to Install Design Studio 1.0

Bypass the pre requisite for the Design studio IE9 requirement which cannot be installed on XP.

Work Around:

Step 1: Run the Installer

Step 2:

Use Process Monitor to see where the SAP Front-End  Installer checks for the pre requisite File. The registry path looks for the version.

Step 3:

Add a new String value file for the version. Name it version and give the  registration type and registration value as 9.0.0.0.

You can download it through the SAP Software Download Center: http://service.sap.com/swdc. You can find the Design Studio download under Installations and Upgrades • Browse our Download Catalog • Analytics Solutions • SBOP DESIGN STUDIO.

Does this bypass also work for SAP BO DS 1.1?

This did work for me with DS 1.1.  Had to do it on about 45 PCs and it worked great.

      Hi Ryan,

Could you sent me registry path, whrere you changed it exactly?

      Thank you.

      Gerardo-

The bypass worked for installing but unfortunately DS wouldn't work once we started trying to build something inside of DS.  If you would like to go ahead and try the registry path is:

      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Internet Explorer

      or

      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer

Sorry for being a bit misleading, we were just working on the install when I posted yesterday and hadn't tested DS beyond the install.

      Hello,

Tip tested today with Design Studio 1.4 SP1: it solve the installation problem but once in Design studio we got an error message in the rendering window (Browser version issue)

unexpectedly there seems to be a reason for the pre-requisite of IE9 🙂
