New Gartner Note; SAP NetWeaver Cloud Portal is Frontend for SAP Innovation
On January 28th, research company Gartner released a research note focused on our new cloud-based solution SAP NetWeaver Cloud Portal. In this highly positive report, Gartner states that SAP’s latest cloud offering is innovative, should play a role in every customer’s portal strategy, and will “play an important role in the transition to the cloud and HANA.”

According to Gartner, SAP’s NetWeaver Cloud portal will help organizations meet the next wave of portal demands. SAP customers should use SAP NetWeaver Cloud portal in order to unify and improve user experience (UX) and as a proving ground for new portal standards and mobile scenarios. Gartner further states that “NetWeaver Cloud Portal is also paving a path toward emerging cloud,” and that “Essentially, NetWeaver Cloud Portal gives SAP a lean offering to complement its more established, sophisticated, and complex NetWeaver Portal.”

The Future of the Portal

Imagine a person we want to call  “Alex” who is working as a modern information worker. He lives in a big-data environment where there is much more available content than can be consumed, most of which he is not even aware of. Moreover, this content is not static, it changes all the time by people and processes. Alex sees himself as an amazingly complex individual with unique content requirements that also change constantly depending on tasks, meetings and goals that alter with time. Alex needs an extremely smart and extremely simple way to get the right content at the right time.

For persons like “Alex” our new project “Magnet” is made. Read this vision by Ben Aflalo and sneak a peak of the future of the Portal as we see it the SAP NetWeaver Portal team.

And participate in the Magnet advisory council supporting the development of the future portal. This is a unique opportunity to influence a major product on the SAP Hana platform.

Ok, corrected by me. The URL of the Cloud space was changed recently, to the URL of the blogs also changed. I thought that redirect would be possible on SCN on that case.
