Setting Characteristic values in Drop down on the dashboard

   Drag the web Item Dropdown box in the Layout area.

   Make sure that you have assigned a query to DP.

   Set the Drop down properties like below.

  Now select a characteristic from that query which is in the Filter section of that query.

   For eg. below it is shown for DC Region.

   Put the DP which are to be displayed as per the filter. Below we have put DP_2, DP_3 and DP_4 as affected data providers.

   The Drop down will look like this on the dashboard. Select any particular value and the output will be displayed as per the selection.

  Filter a Query (B) based on a characteristic (say X) from query (A) on the same dashboard.

  Scenario: – Suppose there are 2 queries (DP) present just one below the other and the query B should be restricted on a particular value from query A.

  Add the characteristic(X) in free characteristics or Display (Rows/Columns) section in query B.

  In WAD, set the affected data providers for DP_1 (query A). The affected data provider is set as DP_4 (query B) below.

   On Dashboard, just do a filter on that characteristic(X) and it will restrict the other query B on that value.

   Reset the web application to initial state on the dashboard

   This can be done by a command “Back to Initial state”.

   Add a button group in the Layout area. Select the command BACK_TO_INITIAL_STATE.

   “Back to initial state” can be at DP level or Web application level.

   If you want the whole web application to reset to initial state then select BACK_TO_INITIAL_STATE for web application.

   Reset the web application to previous state on the Dashboard.

   This can be done by a command “Back to previous state”.

   Add a button group in the Layout area. Select the command BACK_TO_PREVIOUS_STATE.

   Back to previous state can be at DP level or Web application level.

   If you want the whole web application to reset to previous state then select BACK_TO_PREVIOUS_STATE for web application.

   Display the run time filtered characteristic values on dashboard by using Info field.

   Drag a web item “Info Field” in the Layout area.

   Bind the DP in the properties of Info field for which the filter value are applicable.

   Below the DP_4 has been binded. Select the Text element type as Dynamic Filter and then select the particular characteristic.

   Execute the web template to see the filtered characteristic value on dashboard.
