Finally SAP has added back a feature found in many MDM’s – Mobile Document Management, called “SAP Mobile Documents”. In Afaria 6.6 we had a poor man’s document management system, which was dropped in Afaria 7. But now the years wait is over, we now have a superb Mobile documents to sit along side Afaria ๐Ÿ™‚

I am very much looking forward to implementing this solution in the Capgemini Managed Mobility Cloud alongside the Afaria, SUP and Agentry servers.

Thanks, David, for sharing this.  One question: I did not get what SAP is providing that is over and above standard offerings already in the market today (e.g. Box).  Also, what specific features exist for maintaining security of documents on mobile devices?

Yes I am not sure what monitory value SAP will place on this product and how it will fit with Afaria.

But it’s definitely was a missing puzzle piece, and I am glad we now have a product to fill it.

All we need now in Afaria is “Containerisation” and full “Multi-tenancy”

The PPT mentions ramp-up in Q1, 2013.  However, this doesn’t (as of now) figure in the list of ramp-up products, when attempting to submit an application.  Does anyone have an exact date for when the ramp-up starts?
