Announcing SAP Wholesale Distribution Industry Mobile Apps Challenge 2013

Dear Partners,

I would like to invite you to participate in the SAP for Wholesale Distribution Mobile Apps Challenge 2013! You can register and submit your app propsal here.

SAP is the long-time  leader in helping the wholesale distribution industry run better. In the last decade our install base in the industry has grown to over 9,000 customers across areas such as healthcare, industrial, food service and high-tech distribution.  We have great visibility into the needs of the different customers in this industry – and mobility is on the top of the list for many of them. The industry is ripe for a change: sales reps should be able to cross sell and up sell, make informed discounting decisions and maximize sales coverage. Delivery performance can be improved and delivery drivers should be empowered as customers agents. Executives should be able to analyze trends and performance in real-time and the customer should have access to tools to enable him with self-service scenarios. All of this can be accomplished by leveraging mobility. As you can see – there is no one app that can solve a distributor’s problem, and we at SAP believe that the right way forward is to build an overall mobility strategy that takes advantage of the SAP mobile platform as way to roll out mobility in an enterprise, in a cost-effective, scaleable, future ready and secure way.

SAP has always supported an eco-system of innovation, and our approach to mobility is not different. The SAP Mobile Platform is open to business and we invite you to build a new and impressive mobile app on top of it - an app that will inspires the entire Wholesale Distribution community and bring value to our customers.

The objective is to develop an innovative mobile application and publish it on the SAP Store, leveraging SAP for Wholesale Distribution solutions and the SAP Mobile Platform. The challenge is open to all interested partners  with qualified development staff – ISV, SI, VAR, etc.

Some of the benefits of participating in this challenge include:

• Mentoring by industry experts to identify high potential use cases
• Access to dedicated SAP coaching on developing packaged apps on the SAP Mobile Platform
• Valuable co-marketing opportunities
• Media exposure at the award ceremony which will be held in a major SAP event or industry conference (such as TechEd, Sapphire Now, etc.)
• Cash prizes for the winners

• Register and submit your mobile app proposal via this link.
• Join the SAP Mobile Apps Partner Program and publish your final app on the SAP Store by August 30th, 2013.
• A jury of Wholesale Distribution industry experts will select the winners.
