Many times when using Visual Enterprise Author we set up standards for creating Visual Work Instructions, this may include setting up custom materials to apply to our parts. In this posting we are going to discuss how to create a custom tab on the Materials panel and how to save our new materials to this location.
First we need to create a new folder labeled “custom” or you’re preferred named in the location shown below. This folder will also create the tab in the materials panel shown above. Once you have created the folder restart Visual Enterprise Author and the new tab will be shown.
Now you are ready to save your new material to the location. Select the edited or newly created material in the Material Scene panel, right mouse click and select “Save Material As” navigate to your new folder location and save the material with a new name. It will then show up in your new Custom Tab on your material panel.
