Dear community members,

After the acquisition of hybris WCEM was taken off the SAP price list mid of January 2014 and is no longer available. The hybris Commerce Platform is SAP’s strategic way forward.

In case you already have a WCEM license the guideline below is useful to educate yourself about WCEM.

P.lease note that the WCEM support ends on Dec 31, 2020.

      Hi Dr Woesner,

Is there any way to get hold of a local developer edition of WCEM to become more familiar with it?

      Hi Alec,

from SAP we haven't planned any additional workshops.

I recommend to watch the recordings of the Live Expert Sessions (see my blog http://scn.sap.com/community/crm/web-channel/blog/2013/02/11/how-to-self-educate-about-wcem--a-guide)

      or

post your request to the LinkedIn Group for WCEM on http://www.linkedin.com/groups/SAP-Web-Channel-Experience-Management-4342643?trk=myg_ugrp_ovr

There are some great freelancers and partner companies out there who are very skilled and professional in WCEM techniques.

      Best regards,

      Ingo

      Hi Ingo

      Are there classroom training/deepdives planned?

We are already following the expert sessions but feel we lack profound technical knowledge.

      Kind regards

      Bart

      Hi Bart,

After the RKT workshops in February there are no more classroom trainings planned.

We are working on an E-Learning training, and this will also contain sessions about the Web Channel technique, architecture, UI etc.

Until then I recommend to watch the recordings of the 2012 Live Expert Sessions for WCEM 2.0, which are still valid as the technical framework hasn't changed.

Best when you follow my recommendations in the blog "How to self-educate about WCEM - A Guide".

In addition I recommend to raise technical questions (and others as well) here in the SCN WebChannel community. The community is very active and you should get an answer very soon.

      Best regards,

      Ingo

When you are using SAP software in your company your IT administration can give you the S-user ID to access the SAP Service Marketplace.

You can also request an S-user ID here:

      http://service.sap.com/~sapidp/002006825000100141192000E/

For confidentiality/NDA reasons we cannot provide the collaterals publicly.

Its really a great effort to pool everything at one place. Appreciate the effort. It would more benefecial if the Recorded sessions are available to public access

Thank you very much for your comment.

I feel the same but we decided to place the links to the recorded webinar expert sessions in the customer area of the SAP Service Marketplace as these detailed sessions provides a deep knowledge and reasoning about the solution, architecture and technology and features. Hence it would unveil too much intellectual property to the competition.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but for you as a customer or partner just an S-user login (request)  is required.

      Best regards,

      Ingo

      Hi Inigo,

thank you very much, I did my best.

Compiling a blog like is just a minor effort but saves a lot of time for yourself in the end because you can point all people to it. I try to convince other colleagues to do the same, and see a progress here.

Maybe you are also interested in great SD enhancements with great customer value, independent from WCEM. This was my area before, and I compiled my expertise and guidance in another blog. Some enhancements are implemented in just 30min.

      Enjoy,

      Ingo

The document was very helpful in clearing off the basic concepts of Web Channel .

Can you enlist the basic skill sets required to dive into Web Channels ??

      Your help is much appreciated.

      Hi Puja,

It’s WCEM configuration and concept, Java, html of course, and JSF and CSS for the UI changes.

However, SAP has recently acquired the company hybrid, and the
hybris OmniCommerce solution is the strategic way for SAP going forward in Omni CHannel / Web CHannel.

Hybris is a JAVA/JSF based solution as well, but concept wise
there are differences of course. Please check www.hybris.com
      for further information.

      Best regards,

      Ingo
