Abstract:
SAP plans to provide the new solution SAP Commercial Project Management that supports companies in managing the lead-to-cash scenario for the entire project business, covering processes for selling, planning, execution and monitoring of projects. This solution is built as an extension to the SAP Business Suite leveraging the existing functionality to manage commercial projects.
With the implementation of SAP Commercial Project Management companies will be able to increase the profitability of their project business and improve the employee productivity.
The session gives you an overview of the planned new capabilities of SAP Commercial Project Management such as Project Workspace, Project Financial Planning as well as Project Issue and Change Management. It explains how these capabilities are used throughout the complete project lifecycle and highlights the integration points towards existing applications from SAP's Business Suite.

In this session we will focus on Project Workspace, a highly user-friendly and flexible work environment that provides an overview about all relevant information across applications and systems. This helps e.g. a project manager to make the right decisions. Also it leads to a larger transparency in the organization about the true status of projects and allows an early mitigation of project risks.

Abstract:
Project Financial Planning allows for a seamless planning of quantities, costs and revenues throughout the complete project lifecycle. This starts from a high-level planning in the beginning of the bid phase and then also covers detailed base line planning as well as periodic forecasting and ETC processes during project execution. This helps to increase the accuracy of bid estimates. Also it provides increased visibility and transparency into cost drivers, productivity and profitability of a project.
